October's Offerings

October is always a fabulous month for food & drink lovers as there are any number of food days, drink weeks, pop ups, foodie festivals – you name it. Our October hotlist is therefore even more food & drink biased than usual; there’s so much going on you need to have a read and get planning so you can fit it all in!

Eat, drink & snap away at Bone Daddies

One of ours (and the whole of London’s) favourite instagrammers Clerkenwell Boy has created a #boozyweekendramen pop up with Bone Daddies – we’re sold already! The deal: they’ve created a particularly photogenic breakfast that includes a bowl of ramen and a DIY kimchi Bloody Mary – and that’s not it, the Bloody Mary is garnished with maple syrup and a crispy bacon crumb…. It opened last weekend and is available every Saturday and Sunday until 16th October at Bone Daddies in Old Street. But here’s the catch – it’s only for the first fifty customers each day, so get in quick!

To help support Breast Cancer Care

The return of October means the return of Breast Cancer Awareness month, a hugely important part of raising awareness and support for breast cancer. To show our support we’ve created an utterly gorgeous dish that’s packed full of goodness that will be featured on our specials menus all month: monkfish with girolles & aioli. Now it’s over to you – for every one of these dishes we sell £1 goes straight to Breast Cancer Care, so you can do your bit whilst enjoying the perfect plate.

Drink

Like a Bavarian at Oktoberfest East

In our opinion Oktoberfest East is the coolest Oktoberfest in London: The Bavaria-meets-East London shindig is the only Oktoberfest in London to be serving beer from one brewery only (Hacker-Pschorr). It’s not just Hacker-Pschorr drinking though, you can tuck into classic German food such as grilled bratwurst from the Bavarian Street Food Market or tuck into a 3-course feast. Soak up the beautiful décor (inspired by the tents of Munich’s Oktoberfest) with a beer in hand and dance away to live bands and DJS. Tickets vary from £15 – £75 depending on the package you choose. It’s only on until the 8th October so get your tickets and get there quick.

See

Back to back films across London

From screenings of every fabulous film under the sun to talks, workshops and masterclasses with filmmakers and the like, if you’re remotely interested in movies you’re going to want to get involved with the BFI London Film Festival somehow. With 248 films being screened there is no shortage of choice. Our picks of the bunch are ‘Manhattan’ (one of Woody Allen’s best), watch tomorrow and 6th at the LFF, ‘Lady Macbeth’ – watch on 14th, 15th & 16th October at various cinemas and ‘La La Land’ – watch on 7th, 8th in Leicester Square or 16th in Mayfair.

The #LoveScotch popup

We’ve partnered with Diageo to create a beautiful popup at The Drift where you can get stuck into masterclasses and experiential tasting and just generally soak up the gorgeous surroundings. As the name gives away, the popup is themed on Scotch, and it makes sure that the pop up is not just appealing to the boys, but the girls as well. With its own menu of Scotchtails comprising of classic cocktails with a whiskey twist, #LoveScotch at The Drift is quite the place to be. You’ve got until March to enjoy it, so make the most of it while you can – if you’ve got a LCW wristband you can indulge in our Morning Skye cocktail for just £5 all this week.

Do

London Restaurant Festival

We told you there were a lot of festivals around in October! While the London Restaurant Festival may be the last on the list, however, it’s by no means the least. Best news is that it’s on for the whole of October so you’ve got plenty of time to do your restaurant-hopping tours, dining experiences and generally indulge in the excellent value for money menus that are available in some of the best restaurants. We’re most excited about the ‘Japanese Journey’ tour which includes Tonkotsu, Bo Drake & Kurobuta to name just a few. You can do this on Saturday 8th, 15th or 22nd October. The tour starts at 12pm and you can get your ticket for £49 right here.

Dinner at The Twits

Its first month was nothing less than a raucous success, and the 2nd and last month will no doubt follow suit. It might seem expensive but when you think you get epic theatre and exceptional dinner combined in one – and a Roald Dahl-themed one at that – it’s surely worth £75. Your ticket includes live entertainment followed by a “Sting & Tonic” to drink, sky rodent goujons (battered pigeon), mouldy delight (blue cheese & pineapple sticks), The Twits bird pie with turkey & pheasant and then finished off with a “terrible trifle.”
