April’s a super exciting time of year for us with our summer makeover, but there are plenty of other fun things going on in London too.
Walter & Monty
There’s nowhere quite like Walter & Monty’s for charcoal-grilled street food. Renowned as ‘street food with Michelin expertise’, it’s gaining a permanent cheap nfl jerseys home any day now in Bury Court near Aldgate station. On 14th and 15th April they will even be offering free lunch to customers! Think butterflied leg of lamb marinated in mint, garlic and lemon or cauliflower salad with cumin vinaigrette. What’s not to love?
The Best Coffee
For those coffee lovers among us, the London Coffee Festival is always something to look forward to. Coffee is something we love and pride ourselves on and so we can’t wait for what’s in store! You’ll find everything from talks by the most prestigious coffee connoisseurs to classes in creating beautiful #latteart that would impress even the most discerning instagrammer. Check out their website for the full lowdown and buy tickets here.
Rolling Stones: Exhibitionism
To be honest all anyone needs to do is mention the Rolling Stones and we’re interested, but this really is something to get excited about. Exhibitionism is the Stones’ first ever major exhibition, and will feature over 5,000 original objects, from photographs and diaries to costumes and guitars. Starting on 5th April it will be held in the Saatchi Gallery on the King’s Road and will run until the start of September. Find out more and grab your tickets here.
Support London Marathon Runners
How many of you are going along to one point of the London Marathon route to cheer on a friend? Several of our beautiful bars & restaurants are dotted along the route, so come and join us for a time out. As the runners pass the halfway mark & zigzag through Canary Wharf, refuel at The Parlour, which boasts an unbeatable al fresco terrace & a gorgeous menu to fill up families or friends. If you want to place yourself nearer the end of the route, stop by The Folly near Monument or The Happenstance beside St. Paul’s.
Books for Brunch
We can’t think of a more enjoyable than listening to an inspiring, up-and-coming author whilst sipping on a cup of coffee and having a bite to eat. Cue Books for Brunch! Join us one Saturday a month for lively conversation with some uber exciting authors in the relaxed, intimate setting of our literary-inspired Fable bar & restaurant. This month, on Saturday 30th April, Rachel Elliott will be speaking to our wonderful chair Elena Lappin about her debut novel, ‘Whispers Through a Megaphone’, which has been long listed for The Baileys Prize. After their discussion, questions will be opened up to guests and at the end signed copies of her novel will be available to purchase. All sessions are complimentary but only with a reservation. To RSVP, email [email protected]. The next confirmed dates are Saturday 21st May with Helen Babbs and Saturday 11th June with Jack Urwin and chair Caroline Jowett.
